Your privacy rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act

1. What is CCPA?

The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) is a comprehensive privacy law that gives California residents specific rights regarding their personal information. The law applies to for-profit entities that:

  • Do business in California
  • Collect personal information from California residents
  • Determine the purpose and means of processing personal information

Cloud Scout complies with CCPA to protect the privacy of California residents.

3.1 Right to Know (Know Request)

You have the right to request what personal information we have collected about you, including:

3.3 Right to Correct (CPRA)

Under the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), you have the right to request correction of inaccurate personal information we hold about you.

3.4 Right to Opt-Out of Sale or Sharing

You have the right to direct us not to sell or share your personal information for targeted advertising. We do not sell personal information to third parties for commercial purposes without your explicit consent.

Important: Cloud Scout does not sell personal information. However, we may share limited information with service providers and partners for business purposes as described in our Privacy Policy.

3.5 Right to Limit Use and Disclosure

You have the right to limit our use and disclosure of your personal information to necessary purposes only.

We will not discriminate against you for exercising your CCPA rights by:

  • Charging different prices or rates
  • Providing different quality of service
  • Suggesting different terms, conditions, or price/rate

We may offer incentives for data collection that are related to the value of personal information.

3.8 Right to Authorized Agent

You may designate an authorized agent to submit requests on your behalf. The agent must have written authorization from you and we may require verification of their authority.

4. What Personal Information We Collect

We collect and have collected the following categories of personal information:

Identifiers:

Name, email address, phone number, account credentials, IP address

Commercial Information:

Job postings, applications, hiring decisions, payment information

Internet Activity:

Browsing history, pages visited, features used, interactions with emails

Geolocation:

General location from IP address (city/state level)

Professional Information:

Job experience, education, skills, resume information

Inferences:

Match scores, predicted job fit, candidate segments

6. Sharing of Personal Information

Timeline: We will respond to verified requests within 45 days (may extend 45 additional days if needed).

9. Verifying Your Identity

We need to verify your identity before processing requests to protect your privacy and security. Depending on your request, we may ask for:

  • Email address and phone number
  • Government-issued ID
  • Recent account activity
  • Proof of California residency

10. Authorized Agents

If submitting a request on behalf of another person, the authorized agent must:

  • Have written permission from the consumer
  • Provide their contact information
  • Submit power of attorney or similar documentation

12. California Rights for Consumers Under 16
